What can I use?
Spotify song and album links, YouTube videos (including Shorts and YouTube Music), and audio files up to 50 MB: MP3, M4A, WAV, FLAC and more. Up to 50 songs at once, each up to 30 minutes. Spotify playlists and artist pages aren’t supported, since Spotify only shares a playlist’s songs with its owner. Video files can’t be uploaded, so export the audio first.
How accurate is it?
Clear vocals in a well-mixed recording come out best. Heavily processed, buried, very fast, or overlapping vocals are harder. Treat a sheet as a careful first draft. If a song mixes languages, set its language under More options once you’re signed in.
How does translation work?
Each line is translated with the whole song as context, for its meaning and imagery. It’s written for understanding, so it won’t rhyme or fit the melody.
When is it free?
Your first song is free, up to 10 minutes. After that, a Spotify song whose lyrics are already published costs nothing, or 1 credit to translate, whatever its length. A YouTube video or your own file is always transcribed, since it may be a different take. Songs that fail are refunded automatically.
What happens to my audio and lyrics?
We don’t keep your audio. Uploaded files are deleted once transcribed (files added but never sent, within 2 days), and our processing provider deletes its encrypted working copy within 7 days. Lyric sheets are deleted after 24 hours, so download what you want to keep. Your list of past songs is kept for 90 days. The Privacy Policy has the details.
Can I publish the lyrics?
LyricAI is for personal listening, study, and accessibility. Lyrics belong to their writers and publishers, so publishing them or using them as public subtitles needs the rights holders’ permission. Upload only recordings you own or may use. LyricAI isn’t affiliated with Spotify or YouTube. See the Terms.
Do credits expire?
Never. Unused credits can be refunded within 30 days of purchase: email support@lyricai.io.
